Garnished with a twist: the perfect martini serve

The gin martini is perhaps the most elemental of all cocktails. It calls on just three ingredients – gin, Vermouth and a slice of lemon. When mixed, chilled and served up in an ice-cold glass, this humble trio combine to become far more than the sum of their parts.

Here, we present an effortless method for this practically perfect drink. Make sure your ice is fresh and your glassware is cold: then you’re just a few seconds away from the ideal antidote to endless Christmas to-do lists.

50ml No. 3 Gin
10ml Dry Vermouth
Lemon twist zest

Add the gin and Vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice
and stir for at least 15 seconds to get the liquid as cold as possible.
Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon.
